#201 7 Steps to Confident Leadership: How the 360 LeadHERship Method™ Helps Women Ditch Self-Doubt, Own Their Power, and Lead Without Burnout
The 360 Leadhership Podcast, Episode 201, 24 September 2025 by Lucy Gernon
Do you ever look at other successful women and wonder, “How do they do it?”
They seem confident. They speak up effortlessly. They set boundaries. They make time for the gym, their families, and still keep moving up the ladder while you’re left second-guessing yourself, juggling endless demands, and wondering where you’re going wrong.
Here’s the truth: it’s not that they’re “naturally” more confident or better at leadership. They’ve learned how to lead with clarity, executive presence, and balance without burning out. And you can too.
In this week’s episode of the 360 LeadHERship Podcast, I’m pulling back the curtain on the exact 7-step 360° Success System I created inside my signature leadership development programme, 3SIXTY Leaders Club. These are the same steps my clients use to land promotions in weeks (after years of waiting), reclaim their time, speak with authority, and finally feel like the confident leaders they’ve always wanted to be.
Tune in to Discover:
- Why traditional “goal setting strategies” don’t work unless they’re backed by accountability and clarity
- How women in leadership can use mindset shifts to build unshakable executive presence
- The power of group coaching and real-time support to overcome professional challenges
- Practical tools to improve your work-life balance without sacrificing your career ambitions
- How the 360° Success System helps ambitious women leaders become more strategic, impactful, and energised in just 30–60 minutes a week

Are you curious to understand how other successful women in leadership are doing it? Maybe you look at certain women and see their confidence and see that they go to the gym and see that they’re able to speak up and they get these opportunities and you’re there in the background working your little ass off wondering where you’re going wrong. Or maybe you have been recently promoted into a role and you want to make an impact and you’re wondering why do I keep second guessing myself with all of my experience?
Why do I keep shrinking when I’m in certain situations? Why can’t I own my voice? Or maybe you’re thinking things like, I’ve been stuck in this role for so long, I’m ready for more. I want a promotion. I don’t know where I’m going wrong. If that sounds like you, I am so excited today to be able to share the seven steps that my clients take to achieve what I call 360 degree success, which is all about you embodying your next level of leadership, leading with more confidence, executive presence so that you can increase your impact.
reclaim your time so you can reach your potential and build a life filled with success, balance and happiness where anything is possible. So that sounds like something you want. Tune into the episode. I think you’re going to love it, especially step number seven. So let’s get into it.
Hi, everyone, and welcome back to this week’s episode of the podcast. So I decided to record this podcast because I’ve been talking to a lot of our 360 leaders club members and I thought I would record this episode of the show for our current members. But also, I think it’s no harm that obviously, if you’re not a member, you understand how it works because I want to be really clear on what my vision was for 360 and why you do not need to attend every single session to see huge transformation. So let me just rewind back.
Two summers ago, I went to Spain and I rented a villa for about five weeks. And it was when I was over in Spain, I conceptualized 360. I had a previous group for about 18 months or so, and I had been delivering, you know, one to one coaching with for, you know, the last five years and delivering training in companies in certain areas. And one thing that I learned as a professional coach when I did my
Lucy Gernon (02:20.718)
coach training, which is in line with the International Coach Federation standards. I’ve been trained to what’s called PCC level. I realized that there was some huge gaps in what I was seeing in the workplace. I was seeing so many talented women who were burning themselves out, who were playing small, who were allowing other people to dictate where they spent their time. And I just had a fundamental problem with that.
So I started testing all of my methodologies and I started testing like things I had learned in different amazing leadership trainings that I had throughout the years, but also through my coach training, all the therapy I’ve done, all the psychology training, the positive psychology. And I created what I call the 360 Success System, which is the 360 degree success system that you get when you join the 360 Leaders Club. OK, so I want to share that with you guys today.
And this system has helped women to do things like get promoted within eight weeks of joining after four years of waiting. And one of our other ladies, Lisa, said that she has more time. She’s been promoted. She recently shared an idea that she wouldn’t have the confidence to share in her company and saved her company two point eight million. And as a result of that, she got such recognition that she’s been asked to lead an exciting global initiatives.
and she’s forming amazing relationships with senior leaders that she never would have as well. OK, so this system is proven to work and it’s inside 360 Leaders Club. So in case you don’t know what it is, if you’re not in membership right now, 360 is a six month online CPD accredited leadership development program for women who want to grow, to lead boldly and to connect with like minded female leaders who get it without burning out or missing out on life. All in just 30 to 60 minutes a week.
Now, this is for you if you are a woman in senior leadership from senior manager to executive level. We have three different peer curated groups within the membership so that you are in coaching calls with women who are at or above your lead or level of seniority. So we typically will post our executives and our regional leaders in our executive group. We then have our elite group, which would be our directors like site based roles.
Lucy Gernon (04:41.17)
a senior director level. And then we have our accelerator group, which is our senior managers and associate directors. But what I love to do is bring everybody together in community as well so that it’s it’s it’s about inclusion in a sense that I want to such value in shared learning. Forget about hierarchy and levels. The only reason we split out the coaching calls is so that there is everyone is getting equitable, equitable learning in a sense that the conversations are different at each level, which I’m pretty sure you.
except it’s fair, right? So, is like nothing else on the market and it’s all about our seven step system. So I’m gonna go through the seven steps. So if you’re multitasking, please come back to me. If you’re a 360 member, I want you to know that you do not have to attend every live call to get results, but what you do need to know is you need to follow these seven steps. And I’m gonna explain how we do it.
So step one is to clarify. So this is where we do goal setting sessions and intention setting practices to help you to gain clarity, feel focused, stop firefighting with accountability to keep you on track for your goals. So some of our members have goals like they want to make more time to be strategic, they want to get their work-life balance where it needs to be and not to be thinking about work all of the time when they’re not working.
and feel like they’re fulfilling their potential and not second guessing themselves and having more confidence. Or others may have goals to build professional confidence to improve their executive presence. Others may have goals just to develop their leadership skills so that they can make a bigger impact in their organization. And others have goals around work-life balance. So whatever the goals are, it is unique to you. And I’ve designed 360 in such a way that it’s not a one size fits all program.
It’s very, very personalized. I’ll share all the exciting tools that you get access to when you join as well to support with that. So that’s our goal setting. The second step then is learn. So you do a lot of learning here on the podcast, but it is at a different level in 360 Leaders Club. We deliver CPD accredited leadership training and we have an arsenal of on-demand master classes and tools as well.
Lucy Gernon (06:58.904)
So in our CPD leadership training, it is less about building high performing teams and leadership, and it’s more about self leadership and advanced leadership tactics. So we’re talking about trainings like strategic, our strategic leadership mastery, where I, it’s actually my training I developed and it’s been accredited, where I give you some amazing strategic tools to help you to think more strategically, to bring out strategic tools and meetings that’s going to get you really recognized. In fact,
One of my members said, sent me a message recently and she was like, Lucy, I use this tool. And even my boss came over, asked me and like, where do I get it? And she started to get loads of recognition because she started to whip out these frameworks, which we love in 360. Everything is frameworks and everything is structured. So you get access to that. And also you get CPD points for your, your CV as well. When you complete the live sessions. Now, if you can’t make the live sessions guys, they are recorded.
I always recommend, obviously, if you’re in 360, you watch them because even if you only take away one or two things from each of the trainings, it all builds up over time and you are learning from some amazing people. then outside the trainings, we have a amazing guest master classes. So for example, we have a lady called Chris Gordon, who actually was Jennifer Aniston’s communication coach. And she does communication training with top executives in Silicon Valley and lots of companies like Google and all the big names.
And she delivered a training on how to do your elevator pitch. So lots of you will travel or you’ll have visitors coming to your site and you’ve got to be able to articulate who you are and what you do in a way that lands with your ideal person that you’re speaking to and your audience. And then also you’ve got to, you’ve got to be able to, you have to understand it yourself, right? So she gives an amazing framework for you to be able to work through that.
We also deliver like coach training in there as well. This is another example. So we have coach training. We have training on like how to be a coach with your team, how to apply coaching approach, active listening, which will serve you not only with your team, but also with your superiors for influencing up. It’s an absolute game changer. I share my magnetic influence method, which is again about how to influence up and sideways. We have executive presence training and it’s all there. I want you to think about 360 as
Lucy Gernon (09:22.614)
a library or a gym membership. You walk in and it’s like Aladdin’s cave. There is so much information. It can get a little bit overwhelming when you first join. OK, I felt that way too when I joined programs all the time. But what I’ve learned is when you’re clear on your goals and you ask great questions of your coach or your trainer, you will get the best results. OK, you will get the best results. So please don’t get overwhelmed. I want you to know if you just show up to the calls.
Trust the process. If you’re clarifying your goals, if you’re learning something that’s moving you towards it, be it in the live environment or in the pre-recorded trainings, you’re doing it right. So like, even just to give you some examples, we have a strategic tool called the DO-IT decision-making model. And one person said, one of our members said that it was a great tool to structure her approach to a very high stakes decision.
Somebody else was sharing how that she had used another one of the tools and it allowed her to set boundaries and to get her priorities straight. And she used it to deal with culture issues at work as well. So there’s so many things. what having access do you think guys, if you’re not in 360, would you like to have access to tools like that? Because they’re game changing. All right. The third step then the system is coach.
Now, this is what you absolutely do not get on the podcast. This is Intimid group coaching for personalized real time support. So if you’re in 360, you will be in either our as I record this now, we have three distinct groups within 360. We have our accelerator group, which is our senior managers and associate directors. We have our elite group, which is our directors and senior directors typically. And then we have our executive group, which is our executives. Now,
We vet, not vet, we screen everybody for, you know, it’s not just about job title. I can’t say every job title in there because we have general managers. have managing directors. We have heads of, we have executive directors. Like I would be here for a week saying all the job titles, but just as a, as a general rule of thumb, I share those kind of commonly known ones and we screen everybody based on your goals, your level of seniority.
Lucy Gernon (11:37.678)
Whether you’re a people manager, whether you’re not a people manager, whether you have revenue responsibility, P &L, business units, or whether you are in a site-based role. So trust that we have a very robust process for screening that I’ve developed where you will be put with women who are exactly like you. But the best part is, it’s not siloed. So I hate it in corporate, that whole thing about hierarchy, which is why we have a big culture of inclusion.
So no matter what level you’re at, you will be engaging in the community with everybody at all levels. We do all of our trainings together. It’s only the coaching sessions at present that are actually segregated by level of seniority, okay? So the things that come up in the coaching call are things like any advice on working with Gen Z member, team members effectively, I’m being driven mad, or I’m in the middle of a pip and it’s mentally draining me. Have you any tools?
or any advice on how to deal with a difficult female colleague who puts me down. Or we’re going through a restructure and a reorg and navigating so much change. Can you help? How are other people doing it? Or I’m feeling really overwhelmed and menopausal and hormonal and burned out. How is everyone else handling it? So they’re just the kind of questions that come up, okay? So step four then is the, practical action-orientated challenges to help expedite your growth?
Because I believe leadership should not feel like homework and our monthly challenges make it actionable, competitive and actually fun. And we love to give away Amazon gift cards and prizes. And the reason I do that is because I love, I love celebrating your wins and I love seeing you take action because I talk with this in the podcast a lot. You can learn, you can be clear in your goals, but if you don’t challenge yourself and you don’t take control and push yourself out of your comfort zone, you’re going to stay stuck.
So if you’re in 360 and you choose not to participate with the challenges, I highly recommend that you participate in them because they will get you into action. Just to give you an example of some of the challenges we’ve had previously, we’ve had leading through change where we did challenges on like some of the tools that was one of the trainings. We did a reclaim your time series. We did a craft your elevator pitch with power and to actually do it in front of people as well.
Lucy Gernon (14:02.526)
and we did a work life balance challenge and some of the results like one of the girls said that she, after the time management challenge we did, she actually rescheduled a meeting on a Friday afternoon, God forbid, to Monday so that she could attend her daughter’s school prize giving day. She said she blocked it out so she didn’t get any other requests and it feels so good to put family first. Another one of our members said that
She was working on her executive presence in one of our executive presence challenges. And she said, it went fantastic. Her boss said he received two separate comments on her executive presence. And even two of her peers said that they wanted to have her confidence in critical conversations. And they were both male, by the way. Okay. They were both male. So that was so cool to see her apply the learnings and then take the action and start to see the results.
Step five then is strategize. So I know you want to be more strategic and I know that you tell yourself all the time that you’re gonna carve out the time, but do you? Do you carve out enough time to actually be strategic? So that’s why I create step five in our method, which is our weekly strategy power hour and you get access to the most effective strategic tools.
This is an hour carved out for your work and CEO level planning. So you feel strategic and in control and balanced and not just reactive and firefighting. So we set up a, we have two co-working sessions that are set up to accommodate different time zones. And you can just either come to the call and do co-working on something or else you can just add it to your calendar and hold yourself accountable.
But in that event, guys, in the 360 community, you get access to my monthly CEO power hour workbook. Now, this is a business tool that I have developed after lots and lots of business training, but also, more importantly, from extremely successful entrepreneurs who’ve built billion dollar businesses who have reviewed it with me and who have made sure that I’m covering all the right areas in terms of where you should be looking in business.
Lucy Gernon (16:18.422)
And also I’m bringing in everything that I look at as well. The results are so effective because it helps you to pause. It gives you a structure, a roadmap, a framework to be able to actually go through it. And you will leave feeling so freaking strategic. You’ll be so clear on your strategy, so clear where you need to focus every single week if you want to do it. If you want to do it once a month, that’s cool. But you need the framework and you need space. And that’s what I’m giving you. All right.
Step six then is reflect. And this is so important. I think it was Sandra on episode 198 or 199 was sharing about the power of reflection. All great leaders pause to reflect. It is not easy to hold yourself accountable or to even know like, how do I reflect? Like, what does reflection mean? What do I think about? What am I reflecting on? That’s exactly why I’ve created personalized scorecards.
thoughtful prompts and a simple structure to help you to pause, to take stock and feeling control so that you can shift from firefighting to intentional action across your leadership, your career and your personal life. So you get access to these tools and where you rate yourself in the seven areas of 360 degree success, where we’re looking at emotional intelligence, we’re looking at lots of different things. It’s really easy and really, simple to work through. We don’t want you to think it’s overwhelming when you get in and you see the tools.
It’s very, very self-explanatory, but reflection is so, so important. And then the seventh step in the method, which is probably my favorite, is to celebrate. So as a positive psychology coach, which is the science of human flourishing and human health, we know from the science of positive psychology that when you adopt a growth mindset, you’re healthier, you’re happier, and you’re more successful. So why do so many women
stay on the hamster wheel, beat themselves up for not getting through their to-do list, say they’re not good enough, overanalyze what they said, and look at where they’re falling short. You come into my world in 360Liters Club and I will celebrate the absolute shit out of you. I think it’s so important and while it might sound a little bit weird at first, some of the girls are so skeptical because lots of them are data heads and analytical and they’re not as, yeah, they’re not as woo as me.
Lucy Gernon (18:47.554)
But I’ll ease you into it. And before you know it, you will look forward to the celebration. So how we do it is we do weekly wins in the community where people just send in what they’re proud of, what they accomplished that week. So things like, I’m just reading some of them here. I turned off my work phone and laptop every evening and my God, what a difference it made celebrating that. Or I got out for my walk every day as another celebration.
Bigger celebration is I’m sitting here following the phone call, offering me the role of CFO. I’m absolutely thrilled. Thanks so much for everything. I just got my letter of offer. Thanks, Lucy, for your guidance. I could burst and then everybody celebrates underneath it so that you feel good. And then other people are celebrating family time and having difficult conversations. And it’s just fabulous because life is all about growth. And when you stop and you pause, you see how far you’ve come.
So if you’re in 360 Leaders Club, I want to remind you that they are the seven steps and everything you’re getting access to, it has been strategically designed for the busy female leader. I know you’re super busy. I don’t want you to think you’re failing if you don’t attend all the sessions. We have a whole back end process to ensure that we have a process for disengaged members where we look at if you’re showing up, if you’re not showing up.
We will gently reach out and check in to make sure that remind you of your goals so that you don’t fall off the wagon. Because I know how busy it can be when issues arise and you will absolutely deprioritize yourself. But haven’t you been doing that for long enough? Right. It’s time that you allow yourself to be supported. It’s time that you allowed yourself if you’re in 360, the space 30 to 60 minutes a week.
30 to 60 minutes is not a lot of time. Please allow yourself that time. And if you’re not in 360 and you’re like, my goodness, this sounds like something that I really, really want, I invite you to head over to 360LeadersClub.com and you can join our wait list if the wait list is there. If the doors are open when you’re listening to this episode, you can apply. And if you’re in 360LeadersClub right now and you have any questions whatsoever, that’s what the community is for.
Lucy Gernon (21:03.374)
I’m in there every single day as is Katie, our community manager. We are on hand to answer all of your questions, to make all of your experience welcoming, results focused so that you enter 360 as one version of you and you leave as the next powerful, empowered version of you who feels amazing. That’s what I want for you. So I hope this episode has been helpful for you. Just to recap on the seven steps.
Number one is you’ve got to get clear in your goals. You’ve got to clarify your goals. Number two, you’ve got to learn. So learn and develop yourself. Come to our CBD training. Do all of our master classes. Use the incredible tools that are in there to support you to make leadership and life so much easier. Number three is coach. Allow me to coach you so that we can get you the results. And I have other associate coaches too who specialize in different areas.
Then we have step four, which is our challenge. So make sure you’re participating in our challenge and you might win an Amazon gift card. One of the girls, she said she was going to buy a pair. had a pair of runners in her bag and she could have used it off the actual purchase, but she had just bought them. So she was raging. But I said, just go buy yourself something else on Amazon. So it was a nice surprise. Step five is strategize, which you absolutely need to be doing more of. And we give you the space carved out and the tool to do it. Step six is reflect.
so, important that you’re using the scorecards, you’re using the reflective prompts, the aha moments. Like I asked one of our long term members recently, she’s with us two years since the start. I said, what’s the most useful thing now? Like, why are you still here? And she said, obviously the community and the learning. But she said she loves the scorecards and the reflections because they help her every single month to recalibrate, to reset herself, to get clear on where she wants to focus.
And I don’t know about you, but having clarity and peace of mind and focus and energy is everything to me. And step number seven is celebrate. So that’s where we are going to all be in your corner to celebrate the wins, the big and the small. There is no imposter syndrome in 360. There is no masking or fakeness. We are all real women just striving, ambitious women who want to be the best, but also want to take care of ourselves in the process. So
Lucy Gernon (23:27.278)
head over to 360leadersclub.com, submit your application or join the wait list, whatever is there when you land on this page, when you’re listening to this episode, and we will be in touch after you submit that. Please don’t wait if you’re feeling called and if you’re in 360 already and you need support, please feel free to reach out to our community manager or myself and we’d be more than happy to support you to ensure that you get the results that you’re investing in because if you are investing in yourself, I can give you the tools.
but I can’t make you pick them up. So you’ve got to do that for yourself. And I will be there in your corner every step of the way when you choose to do so. So that is it for this week’s episode of the podcast. I hope you found it valuable if you’re a 360 Leaders Club member. And if you’re not a member, I hope it gives you a bigger, better understanding of the magic and the value that you get when you join. So again, head over to 360leadersclub.com
submit your application or join the wait list. We’ll pop the link in the show notes. And if you have any questions about it, if you’re like, God, is it a good fit for me? I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to commit. I’m not sure if I want to invest in myself. Is it the right time? All these questions I hear all of the time. Just send me a DM or send my team an email and we can have a chat and we can, I can help you make a good decision for yourself because if you’re investing in yourself, you have to make a good decision. And I’ll never like.
push anyone, I don’t need to push anyone to join 360 is already amazing. So when you’re ready, I’ll be there. But if you’re on the fence and you need to chat, absolutely reach out to me. All right, so that’s finally it for this week’s episode of show. I hope you have a great rest of your day and I’ll see you again, same time, same place. Bye for now.
