#18 Lucy’s Top 3 Self-Help Books
The 360 Leadhership Podcast, Episode 18, 27 April 2022 by Lucy Gernon
Reading has been shown to put our brains into a pleasurable trance-like state, similar to meditation, bringing deep relaxation and inner calm.
People who read regularly sleep better, have lower stress levels, higher self-esteem, and lower rates of depression than those who don’t.
In addition, research conducted by LinkedIn found that the best way to ensure that you’re happy at your job is to spend more time learning.
Learning is something that I love to do as long as I can remember. I was always in the front row at school putting my hand up to ask questions driving the teachers mad I’m sure!
But when I started working, I kind of lost that. Work took over and I thought I didn’t have time to read unless it was work-related. The only things I was reading were emails, work reports and performance reviews!
Can you relate?
A few years ago, I created a bedtime ritual for myself that includes reading. I go to bed most nights at 9.30 with a book and sometimes a cuppa tea and get lost in the wonderful world of my imagination. I tend to read a lot of self-development books which started when I was searching for answers about why I was so unhappy with myself and my life purpose.
I love passing that knowledge on to you and then of course at a much more detailed level to my VIP clients in my signature Program Powerhouse Revolution which is packed full of training videos and resources
A medium once told me that I am here to spread my knowledge and support others and that’s exactly what I’m sharing today.
I’ve whittled down the top 3 books that changed my life. This was really hard as there are so many, but these ones stood out.
So sit back, relax, and be inspired.
