Whether you’re in the car, commuting, doing the housework, doing your exercise, I am so grateful to have you here with me. So many exciting things have been happening in my business and in my life over the last few weeks and months. And it’s been a bit of a whirlwind of a time. And obviously, I’ve launched 360, I’ve rebranded, go check out my website, Lucy garden.com, you can also check out 360 leaders club.com, a new high level membership for women leaders, there’s just been so much going on so much goodness. But amid all of that promotion, and all the rebranding and all the launch of my new membership, there was a lot of challenges. And I always like to keep things real in a hope that when I go through something, and I learned something, I can share it with my lovely listener you on the podcast. So while I’ve shared in the other episodes, all the amazingness of everything that I’ve you know, launched recently with 360, and the website and all of that, there was a lot of challenges that were going on simultaneously. So today, I’m just going to talk you through three powerful mindset shifts to help you through challenging times based on what I’ve learned. So it’s going to be a shorter episode, but I think it’s going to be very valuable. So let me just paint the scene. So in the summertime, I rented a villa with my family in Spain. So we left for just over four weeks. And I did that because for the last two or three summers, I have been locked in my home office working looking out the window, you might have heard me share this on the podcast before. All of the ladies who live along my road are teachers like all of them barber too, there’s a room by 10 houses and I think it was like six or seven teachers or essays. And they’re all off for the summer. So I’ve been inside in my office Holsten away, trying to develop my business trying to make things better serve my clients and all of the things while they’re outside drinking their tea or having their cocktails on a Friday evening. I’m locked in the office. So I made a decision last year, that 2023 Summer was going to be different. And that’s my invitation for you actually to is if you want to do something like what I’m going to share that I did, like you can absolutely do it. Okay, you just have to put a plan in place and you know, get ready for it now, so that you can do it next year if your role allows you to work remotely, of course, or if you can influence certain people to allow you to work remotely for a period of time. So so we moved to Spain, we went to the beautiful me house, which is on the Costa del Sol and the Costa del Sol is a very, very special place to my family and I because my husband and I actually got married in May house in 2011. So we have gone to Spain for years and years and years. And I know, you know Santorini is really popular at the moment and Sardinia and Portugal is very popular with the Costa del Sol just has my heart and I will buy a villa there one day. Mark my words. So I’m in Spain, we moved to Spain, we have this gorgeous villa has its own private pool. There are three bedrooms my mom is there. My two daughters are with me, Sara main case on my husband and my son followed us out for a portion of the time for like 10 days because they were working and stuff like that. So I’m in Spain. And I mean the beautiful he’s I’m there with my family. But I had a huge workload, huge workload, because I chose to launch my new brand in September. And as part of a rebrand, like I explained a couple of episodes ago, we can go back and see it. It does a massive amount of work that goes into launching a new membership and developing a new website and all the things that we did. So not only did I have my normal client work and serving my clients is so important to me. Like I always make sure that I deliver as to the best of my ability to a highest 100 So not only do I have all of my clients to support my private one to one clients, my membership, my masterminds, my corporate clients, I did corporate training over there as well. I was also developing this new brand and the membership. So I’m in Spain, this huge workload, I’m trying to say to myself, everything is fine, you’re gonna be fine to stay positive, because I’m usually very positive. But it was hard. And in the middle of all of that, I was having some minor health issues myself. Now, nothing major to worry about. But I have like gammy finger, I have bad ankle at the moment, I’ve been having this mod ringing in my ears have to go for an MRI. There was just loads of little things all happening during the same time. So what I will say on the health issues is I absolutely prioritize those appointments, and I worked my business around them. So if you’re multitasking, please come back to me. I know so many of you will put those little health niggles last those smear tests or those mammograms, or go on to a physio, because your back is kind of twinge in, but like you’re not in that much pain. So you know, you can just suck it up. Can you relate? I invite you today to put your health first. Because without your health, you don’t have anything else. So please, please prioritize your health. That’s one thing I did. I did it, we made it all of this chaos, I did my appointment and all those things. So hard to help things. I was in Spain, living my best life by the sea writing content by the ocean, it was just fabulous. But it was like there was this low level anxiety the entire time if I’m honest, okay. Because there was so many challenges happening in my business. And the people, some of the people I love, there was some personal things going on with them that were really, really hard. So I had all of that on my mind, as well, as you know, my own stuff, I was worried about certain people in my life. And if that wasn’t enough, my team changed. So amid all of this, I hired somebody new. And they handed a notice to me, because they were a freelancer. And our processes just weren’t going to align, I wanted them to follow my processes. They wanted me to follow their processes. And I made a decision that you know, it just wasn’t going to work. It was a mutual decision. So that wasn’t gonna work. So then I gave somebody else a chance. And I knew very quickly, and I’m going to do an episode on this again, but I knew very quickly that she wasn’t the right fit. I gave her a chance, I suppose, out of, I suppose my emotion took over with her story. And so I’ll give her a chance. But I knew very quickly, it wasn’t going to work. And I basically had to let her go while I was in Spain, because I just couldn’t deal with what was happening there. So I had to let her go and take on the work that she was supposed to be doing myself and TVO to my team. So there was just I mean, I can’t even tell you that my head was spinning. I was like, What the heck is happening here? Why is there so much, I’m supposed to be in Spain getting ready to launch 360. And, you know, I knew all the branding stuff was coming, but I just it was just there was was so much. So from going back to there, I can feel the the anxiety creeping back up in me now. And amid all of that, I was going through a massive identity shift. Because one thing I’ve learned in business is that every single time you uplevel you go through a massive identity shift. You You know, I started having impostor syndrome, I started doubting what I was going to be doing, I started, you know, second guessing myself, I started saying, you know, all of these crazy things on my head, because I was just overwhelmed with everything that was happening. So there was there was a lot. So I want you to know, first of all, I’m fine. I’m absolutely fine. And the reason I suppose I’m fine now is because there was three things that I just consistently reminded myself on, which helped to shift my mindset. And that’s exactly what I want to share with you today that in life, there’s going to be challenges. And I think the biggest mistake that we make as humans is that we expect life to be fair. And we expect that things go well. And when things don’t go well. We don’t like it very much. But actually, we have to become resilient, we have to become resilient. And sidenote, that word resilience. I used to absolutely hate it. I hated it, because I thought, Oh, this is just a corporate thing. They want you to be resilient so that you will put in more hours and all of these things. I had this really negative narrative in my own mind around resilience because I wanted life to be fair. But what I’ve learned is is that life is not fair. And that in order to I suppose progress and survive, you have got to develop some resilience and I actually have a fabulous guest speaker, Dr. Brian Penny coming into my membership very soon.

Here’s a little sneak peek that nobody knows about to deliver a training on resilience because it’s just something It’s also so important. But all of that aside, if you’re multitasking, come back to me because right now I’m going to share those three things, those three mindset shifts I made, which helped me to get through that challenging time. So the first one is that life is all about contrast. You cannot have the good without the bad. And I reminded myself of that I reminded myself that better days were coming i i imagine if any of you were boys on phones back in the day I loved by his own if you’re not from Ireland, or you know, if you’re in the UK, you might not know if you’re in the US or you are, you probably will in Europe, actually. But there was a band called boy band back in the car in the 90s. Called boys on and the lead singer Ronan Keating, he left when he released a song called Life is a roller coaster, you’ve just got to write it. And I imagined that I thought about that song as I was going through all of this. And I was thinking about the contrast. And I was imagining, like, being on a roller coaster, and I was in a dip. And I was in my you know, in my carriage and I was just thinking to myself, Okay, well, I’m down in this dip right now, the only way is up. So I want you my invitation for you is to remember that we cannot have good without bad. And contrast just actually shows you what you don’t want. And when you know what you don’t want, it means you know what you do want, and then you can take action towards moving towards it. So that’s the first mindset shift I made is that life is all about contrast, and you can’t have gone without. But the second thing was, When Everything Feels like it’s falling apart, it’s actually just coming together. So again, every single time without fail in my life. And in my business when I felt like my life was falling apart or when things felt open the air because again, remember, just told there was tons of stuff going on in my personal life too. And it just felt like honestly, everything was falling apart at the same time. I just reminded myself that it’s all it’s all actually just coming together and to the universe is getting all the building blocks in place to be able to get you what you want. So the next time you’re in a challenging situation b that you’re going through a reorg and work or you lose a family member or, you know, you get made redundant or something bad happens to you. It’s all happening just as it’s supposed to you we’re always on the right path, because it’s the path you’re on. And everything is going to work out in the end. So that’s something that I reminded myself off to. And then the third thing that I reminded myself, the third mindset shift is from my, my lovely mommy, who always says that, that phrase, this too shall pass. This too shall pass. So I just kept reminding myself that nothing stays the same. Everything changes, this is gonna pass I’ve gone through tougher times before. And how we can get out of a quicker is by looking for the lessons, like what can you learn from the situation? Stay focused on what you want, not what’s happening. So instead of you going, Oh, my God, this is so shifted this happening? Well, what do I want? Okay, like, what do I want. So try to stay focus on how you want to feel and just choose the next best emotion. And then what you need to do is align your actions towards your goals. So reminding yourself that it’s going to pass and then just aligning yourself with the act with your actions towards your goals is going to help you get focused. So if you’re going through a challenging time, right now, I am sending you love, I am sending you a big Virtual hug. And I want you to know that you are stronger than you think you are more resilient than you will ever know. And you have all the power within you to get through and resolve anything because you are resourceful. You are whole. And yeah, that’s really just what I wanted to say to you today. So I hope that that episode was valuable. I’m going to show the three things again, really quickly. Just a quick recap before I go. So three mindset shifts. Number one, remember, life is all about contrast. You can’t have good without bad, better data coming. Number two, when everything feels like it’s falling apart and going wrong, it’s actually just coming together. And number three, Nothing stays the same. This too shall pass. So I hope you find that episode. valuable. I want you to just remember this, if you’re having a challenging time, maybe just save this episode or bookmark it somewhere so that you can come back and remind yourself of these things. And if you know I have a friend who’s going through a challenge right now, who works in corporate leadership or is a female founder, please share this podcast with them. You’d be given them a gift. So until next time, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week and I look forward to being in your ears again, same time, same place next week. Bye for now
