Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the powerhouse Revolution podcast. I hope you’re keeping well I hope wherever you are, today, the sun is shining, and that people are being nice to you. And that if you’re not that you have the strength and resilience to realize that those people are in pain. It’s nothing to do with you. It never ever was. So I hope somebody needed to hear that today. I’m in really, really good form. And the reason I wanted to hop on the podcast today, I don’t even know when I’m going to release this episode is I wanted to talk about I’m hearing a lot about people not knowing where they want to be in their life, and feeling really uncertain and feeling really stuck and not really feeling happy or content, but not really knowing what to do about it. And it got me thinking about a an interview I saw with Oprah Winfrey, not so long ago. And the interviewer asked her, he said you’ve interviewed like most of the most successful people in the world, like so many of them. He said, What’s one kind of common thing that these people have in common? And what she said is what I’m going to share with you in today’s episode, because I think it’s something that’s so underrated. But when you get this, everything changes, okay. So if I just kind of share my own story, for those of you who don’t know, I, I quit my corporate career after two decades in the pharmaceutical industry. And throughout my life, I never felt good enough, I never felt I was worthy. I looked to other people for validation, I linked a lot of my self worth to my achievements. I didn’t know who I was without my work. I didn’t allow myself to have fun. And I was very serious, very focused on getting the results and getting you know all the targets and getting to the next level and work and being successful and making more money and finding new handbags. And all of these things that I thought would make me happy. But they never, never did. But I didn’t know what to do about it. Until I found a way which is exactly what I do now with my own clients, which is why I left. But if you’re not where you want to be in your career in life, there is a big reason for that. And I heard Oprah Winfrey, being interviewed and it was super powerful. The interviewer asked her, he said, You interview some of the most successful people in the world. And she was like, Yeah, I’ve interviewed a lot of people. And he said, What’s the number one characteristic or the number one trait that these people have? That you see that makes them successful. And that’s exactly what I’m going to share with you today. So she said that most people in life are in chaos in your head. That’s where your your life is chaotic. So most people are unsure where they’re going. They don’t have a vision for who they want to become. They are going where the boat takes them. They’re being swept up in busyness, they have no time to actually think and pause and think about where they want to go in their lives. And that’s why the majority of people don’t succeed. When I say succeed, accomplish their full potential. Because to me, that’s what success is. It’s becoming the best version of yourself. Like, I truly believe that each one of us is here for a reason. I believe you’re here for a reason. I believe you’re here to make your mark on the world. But until you learn the lessons that life is throwing at you, you cannot do that. And most people stay in pain. Most people stay in discomfort and they don’t move forward. And because it’s so comfortable staying where you are, even though it’s uncomfortable. It’s familiar that most people won’t move out of their comfort zone which is why they don’t reach their full potential. But I don’t want that for you. So in order to be successful, this is super important. If you need to know where you want to go, you need to have a very clear vision of the person you want to become. Now, I’m not talking about the next level at work, okay? Grand if that’s what you want. It’s not about the level, it’s about the impact. So maybe that aligns to the person you want to become. Because if you’re chasing a superficial title, that’s not going to make you happy. So if you’re multitasking, come back to me. If you’re chasing a job title, because of the title, that is not going to make you happy. But what will make you happy is if getting to the next level allows you to make a bigger impact, which aligns to who you want to become. So if you want to be really happy, and really successful, and become the best version of yourself in leadership, and in life, to be the best woman, the best leader, the best mother, the Met best daughter, you’ve got to get clear on what that looks like. Because if you don’t know, nobody else is going to know for you. So I’ve worked with women in the past who are waiting, and they’re still waiting for their bosses to give them the promotion or for their bosses to do things. And they don’t want to push themselves out of their comfort zone. And they’re afraid but when I worked through it with them, and I helped them get clear on their personal brand, I helped them get clear on their vision, I helped them, give them the tools around the confidence, the boundaries, the communication, all the soft skills, that the human skills that they’re missing to get to that next level, that’s when they’re happy. But you’ve got to align it to who you want to become not just the title. So what’s really, really, really important and if you’re multitasking come back to me, the most important question you will ever ever ask yourself is what do I really want? What do I really want, you need to know where you want to go? You need to stop doing what you think you should do? What society says you should do? What other people tell you to do. I want you to think about what do I really want? What am I on this earth to do? If I wasn’t afraid, what might be different for me. Because when I left the corporate world, to follow my mission, my vision, so my mission is to shift corporate culture by empowering and supporting female leaders, I want you to become the best version of yourself. I want you to add tons of value to your organization while living a balanced and happy life. Because what is the point if you were just working, work, work, work, work, work, you’re not living and I don’t want you to get to the end of your life and realize that you have wasted it by people pleasing by doing what your organization wants from you and not doing what you want. I believe you can still make a I say enough that I believe I know, no matter what level you’re at, you can still make a huge impact. You can still do all of that. But you don’t have to burn out or miss out on life. And once you get really clear on the vision. Who are you? Who are you in the work? What lights you up? What makes your heart sing?

What would you do now, if you weren’t doing the job you’re in now it’s just something else. Because so often I see people come to me. And they’ve left toxic, toxic jobs. And then they’re in another job another thinking about leaving again. And you know, I’m kind of going through their values with them under their vision and helping them get clear in their leadership, Scott style and all of those things. Most people jump from from job to job because they haven’t learned the lessons that life is trying to teach them. And then lo and behold the same kind of toxic people show up in the next job and the next job and the next job. And then often as well. They have these passions inside and you’re I know you’re the same you’ve got some passions inside that you’re not allowing yourself to express because work is taking over. So I want you to give yourself permission to do some exploratory work with yourself and ask yourself get a pen and paper and just say to yourself, what do I really want. If I wasn’t afraid what other people would think of me? What would I be doing right now? What would be different for me if I did that? What will be different from my farm Only my organization you need to do more of what lights you up my friend because that’s what you’re here to do. You know, we see Bruce Willis at the time of recording this you know what’s been released that he has dementia. We’ve seen a loads of greats who are, you know, in and around your age, my age. And when I’ve gone from this earth, they’re dead. Michael Jackson. You know, Bruce Willis is not very well Michael Flatley is not very well, these are just names coming to my mind. There has been so many deaths in the last few years of greats or people that we grew up watching, who are now gone, like they’re dead, dead, dead, dead, never ever to come back, Robin Williams. So among the amazing people are now dead. And that’s going to be you one day, it’s going to be me. And I don’t want you to have any regrets. So my invitation for you today is get clear on who you are. Get clear on what you really want. And then every choice you make every move you make in the direction towards that, you will be so surprised that when you have clarity on who you want to become in as a leader, when you want who you want to become as a woman, what you want the best version of yourself to look like when you are so crystal clear on that. And trust me, I know, because I’ve done this. Life rises up to meet you, you get opportunities, because that is the universe showing you you’re on the right path. But if you don’t know what you want, if you’re relying on everyone else, to tell you what to do next, if you’re supporting everyone else, and not taking care of yourself, you’re not going to live the best version of you, you’re not going to reach your potential. And that is not what you want. And I know this. So I know this has been quite intense. I get quite passionate because I have I just have visions of you driving in the car or listening to this or out for a walk. And you’re you’re struggling sometimes and you’re you’re doing everything for everyone else. And I’m wondering, what about you? What do you need? What support do you need in your life.
